PROJECT BAG LADY is an exploration of plastic. Follow along as I research plastics cultural and historical impact on society through abstract compositions, sculpture and product design. The objective is to readjust our awareness to this once admired, material that society presently deems as toxic waste. Currently, our recycled plastic is being denied from other countries for processing and there is a cultural shift of adopting zero-waste consumption. I don’t believe turning our backs on this material is the only answer. Plastic is with us at the moment, let us use this problem as a catalyst for creativity and awareness. So, how can we creatively use this material in alternative ways?
